It's a tough day for Calheine Perry, who must be looking forward to finishing her first Dakar by now. The diminutive 1.58 m tall girl started the stage in 49th place overall, but she has been trying to fix her KTM at km 206 for quite a while now.
Luciano Benavides achieved his best result since the start of the rally with third place today, ahead of José Ignacio Cornejo. The two men are locked in a battle for sixth place overall, with the KTM rider prevailing for now.
A wary Ricky Brabec conceded almost 12 minutes to stage winner Pablo Quintanilla today. Even though his overall lead has now been halved, it should still be enough going into the closing stage of the Dakar.
