Paulo Gonçalves has finally ended his day in hell. The Portuguese biker has crossed the line 6 h 36 after Ricky Brabec and will be able to stay in the race, but without any overall ambitions.
Due to a technical problem that affected the GPS of the bikers, the race stewards have decided to modify the results recorded at the finishing line of the special. The results for the stage will be established using the times achieved at way-point 53, after 389 km of the initially planned route.
Ross Branch has finished his ordeal at last. After a fall that left him with an injured shoulder, the winner of the second stage was finally able to reach the finishing line, albeit with gritted teeth, 1 hour and 27 minutes behind the day’s winner.
Following a disastrous first stage on which he lost 6 hours due to mechanical problems with his Mini, Jakub Przygońskihas achieved a fine third place on the day’s stage, 4 minutes behind Sainz. Stéphane Peterhansel lost time over the last few kilometres and has finally finished 10 minutes behind the winner.
