Dmitry Sotnikov has crushed the competition in Pisco, finishing more than 23 minutes ahead of second placed finisher Siarhei Viazovich. More importantly, he completed the stage almost one hour ahead of his team-mate Eduard Nikolaev and has taken the lead in the general standings.
Chaleco López has been on fine form these last few days. The former biker has won his third consecutive special stage in Pisco and as a result he has taken the lead in the SxS general standings. Cristian Baugmart battled valiantly, but finished 4’47 behind the Chilean.
Nicolás Cavigliasso is not loosening his grip on the Dakar and has just won his 7th special stage since the start in Lima. The Argentinean has beaten Gustavo Gallego by 9’10 and Jeremías González Ferioli by 9’16. In the general standings, he now boasts a lead of 1 hour and 24 minutes over his closest pursuer.
Sébastien Loeb has picked up his fourth stage victory on the Dakar 2019 on completion of a show of strength. The man from Alsace has beaten Nasser Al-Attiyah by 7’27 in Pisco and Jakub Przygonski by 15’15. In the general standings, Loeb is just 16 seconds behind the driver in second position, Nani Roma!
