It has been a dark day for Chaleco López. The Chilean finished 1 hour 16 minutes behind Sergey Karyakin, losing the lead in the general standings to the Russian and dropping down to fifth place.
Sergey Karyakin continues to improve his performance with is first victory in an SxS. The Russian did not leave a chance to Rodrigo Moreno (who finished 14’26 behind) and took advantage of Chaleco López’s misfortunes to take over the lead in the general standings.
Led for a significant amount of the stage by Martin Macík, Andrey Karginov has finally picked up the pace at the end of the special in Tacna to gain a second consecutive victory. This allows him to climb up to second place in the general standings behind his Kamaz team-mate Eduard Nikolaev, who lost more than 13 minutes to him today.
Martin Macík is still in the lead at CP3. The Liaz driver is 2’29 ahead of Andrey Karginov, but Airat Mardeev has not yet reached CP3.
